The Loom is a famous style of furniture named after it’s English inventor Lloyd Loom. The Loom was particular process of consisting of woven paper which took the place of rattan during the 1920’s.
Used for Cruise ships, resorts, and tearooms gave him a high class brand image, but as the process was expensive and the weave not easy to maintain, the Loom Furniture was abandoned in the following generations and became collectors items.
Rehau a famous German company, revived this yesteryear furniture by developing a synthetic
fiber process used for rattan furniture and further created yet another new synthetic
fiber to recreate the same look as the natural paper Loom. Weatherproof, UV resistant,
color fast, highly durable and easy maintenance. |
